Located at a distance of 190 km from Hamedan on the road connecting Baghdad to the Iranian Plateau, Kerman shah is a flourishing agricultural center in Iran.
Though Kerman shah is not a very old town, it offers some attractions which make it historically outstanding. Bisotun inscriptions and bas – reliefs are historically of great importance. The 1200 line inscriptions of Bisotun give a full account of the reign of Darius, the Great (522 – 486 B.C), the Achaemenian king. Taq – e Boston grottoes depict majestic Sassanian bas – reliefs.
